Individual Music Therapy can be tailored to fit the needs of an individual in a one-on-one setting. It involves assessment, treatment planning, implementation of musical intervention, documentation on progress, and termination of services once goals are met.
What does the assessment look like?
The purpose of the assessment is to determine goals to give structure to the interventions used. It is completed by gathering information from parents and other professionals that have worked with the individual. A music therapy session is performed in order to assess responses to music interventions.
